Small Tools as Memory
Small tools are often a form of memory. They encode a workflow that would otherwise live as scattered habits, notes, and repeated decisions.
The best ones are boring in a good way. They do one thing, load fast, save state in an obvious format, and remove enough friction that the workflow actually happens.
For a personal site, a playground section is a good home for this kind of work. The tools can start as sketches, become useful locally, and only later graduate into something more durable.
